A Magical Christmas at Walt Disney World

A Magical Christmas at Walt Disney World

Christmas, on its own, is the most wonderful time of year for most. Add a trip to the magical kingdom of Walt Disney World Resort into the mix and all I can say is — hello Disney and so long Sears Christmas catalogue.

There is much to see and do at Walt Disney World during the “normal” time of year, so spending Christmas there can seem overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be. Don’t get stuck on seeing all the things that you feel you must, and instead focus on what’s most important for your family. Make a list of all the special events that everyone wants to see, and select one or two per day and plan around them.

Want to see Santa? Visit Downtown Disney’s Festival of the Seasons, where there is a lot of wonderland fun going on, and the kids can meet Jolly St. Nick in the flesh from now until December 29, 2014.

Craving Christmas Turkey? There will be no shortage of drumsticks (or other special holiday dishes) to order at numerous restaurants throughout the theme parks and at the resorts. Just make sure you make your reservations well ahead of time if missing out on turkey dressing is going to get you down.

Miss seeing Christmas lights? Visit The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You’ll be treated to a stunning visual display where lights “dance” to music. This event takes place from now until January 4, 2015.

Forgot a present or two? There will be no shortage or selection of gifts and/or stocking stuffers to buy for the tall and the small when shopping in the Downtown Disney® area.

Again, don’t try to do and see it all, because in that rush to add “one more thing”, you’ll miss the beauty of the moment in front of you. By looking at your next day’s schedule instead of the finale of Holiday Wishes at Magic Kingdom, you’ll miss the splendor that made everyone near you gasp. After all, Christmas comes but once a year.
