AMA Travel’s Sneak Peek at Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas
Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas is officially the largest cruise ship out on the ocean, meaning it fits more staterooms, restaurants, and fun than any other.
While tons of avid cruisers have wanted to get on board, it had only been sailing throughout Europe since it was completed in early 2018. However, it’s coming to North America in November, and AMA Travel was invited to go on its maiden voyage!
You can follow along on November 15-16 as our social media specialist gives you live updates on our social media. Watch AMA Travel’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to be the first to know. But if you miss it, don’t worry: we’ll be following up with a detailed run-down on the ship’s amazing attractions and must-do activities.
Reasons to be Excited
Biggest Ship on the Seas!
The Symphony of the Seas can carry 6000 passengers and 2000 crew members to accommodate the guests. That certainly sounds like a lot of people, but the 18 decks that comprise the ship provide every guest plenty of room.
Its seven onboard “neighbourhoods” of different themes all carry their own fun things to do, whether it’s shopping, eating, taking in an amazing musical performance, or walking through the park – Symphony’s Central Park neighbourhood, specifically, complete with walking paths and over 20,000 tropical plants.
Royal Caribbean has spared no expense making the ship as much of an attraction as the ports you’ll be visiting. The ship features an onboard slide that’s a 10 storey drop, an escape room, a child’s water park, on-deck wave pool where you can learn to surf, basketball court, ice-skating rink, two 43-foot rock-climbing walls, zip line, laser tag, aquatheater shows, featured musical performance of Hairspray, arcade, and – somehow – even more!
There are more than 20 restaurants for you to try, each with their own distinct and adventurous menu. Here is but an appetizer of what you have to look forward to.
Wonderland – Journey into the upside-down world of molecular gastronomy, where everything – from the plates to the lighting to the ink that magically appears on the menus – brings you into a world of wonder.
Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver – Famous TV chef Jamie Oliver lends his brand of healthy and hearty food to Royal Caribbean, featuring comfort food elevated to the find-dining status.
Izumi – Sushi lovers will find their second home aboard the Symphony, as Izumi is filled with deliciously fresh fish making their sashimi and maki as tasty as can be.
150 Central Park – For the gourmands, the farm-fresh ingredients and artistic presentation of 150 Central Park will satisfy the finest of your taste buds.
Chops Grille – Nothing beats the simple beauty of a perfectly grilled steak. Chops finds the perfect balance between delectable sides, a broad wine selection, and hand-cut steaks that are a celebration of all things cow.
