Best Price Guarantee

AMA Travel’s Best Price Guarantee (the “Guarantee”) applies to

  1. Vacation packages provided by WestJet Vacations, Transat Holidays, Nolitours, Air Canada Vacations, Sunquest, Sunwing and Signature Vacations (each a “Package”) which are booked at AMATravel.ca; and
  2. Hotel stays in North America (each a “Hotel Stay”) where the Hotel Stay is booked through AMA Travel either in person at an AMA retail centre, over the phone with an AMA Travel agent or online through amatravel.ca.

In the unlikely event that you find a lower price (including all applicable taxes and fees) for travel products that are the same as the Package or Hotel Stay, whether on AMATravel.ca or on another Canadian-based website, AMA Travel will credit or refund you the difference. Plus if you redeem the Guarantee on a Hotel Stay and are an Alberta Motor Association (“AMA”) member, you will receive $25 in AMA Reward dollars per hotel, per stay, that you can use towards future travel arrangements with AMA Travel or for other AMA products and services.

The Guarantee for Packages only applies if you find another vacation package (i.e. air and hotel booked together as a package on the same itinerary) that is the exact same as the one you want to purchase from AMA Travel, including all taxes and fees. You must redeem on the Guarantee prior to or at time of booking at AMATravel.ca.

In the case of Hotel Stays, the Guarantee can be redeemed up to twenty four (24) hours after you have booked the Hotel Stay at AMATravel.ca.

Must be “Apples to Apples” Comparison

  • The Guarantee is available only for exact itinerary matches, for example, specific tour operator (including class of service), hotel (including room type), payment terms, applicable refund policy, and the exact same dates and times of travel or service as booked through AMATravel.ca.
  • Travel must be completed in accordance with the itinerary for the Package booked before you are eligible to receive the refund or credit, and AMA reward dollars if applicable.
  • Changed or cancelled bookings are not eligible.
  • For Hotel Stays, the comparison must be to the same product purchased as a stand-alone through another website (i.e., not part of a hotel and air vacation package).
  • The Guarantee applies only to the cost of a Package or Hotel Stay as presented in the AMATravel.ca search results, including any taxes and fees.
  • You must meet all requirements imposed on the lower price (if any), including, without limitation, residency, regional and age-related requirements.

Comparison Rates Must Be Available to the General Public Online

  • The Guarantee applies only to prices both advertised and available to the general public on a Canadian-based website. For example, this does not include promotional codes or vouchers, corporate discounts or rates; group, charter, rewards program, incentive, meeting, convention; prices obtained via auction or similar process; or prices available only by using a coupon or other promotion not offered to the general public.
  • The lower price may not come from a website where you call to get the rate, or from an e-mail that you received.

Redeeming On the Guarantee

  • If you would like to redeem on the Guarantee, here is how you make a claim:

For Packages

Step 1: Confirm if the lower price is actually available. AMA Travel must be able to confirm the price availability of the other vacation package at the time you submit your claim.

Step 2: See if you qualify – Is the product identical (e.g. same dates, flight itinerary, trip duration, accommodation, number of guests, payment terms, currency (or equivalent)?

Step 3: With details of the lower price handy, make your request for the Guarantee by email to amatravel.online@ama.ab.ca or calling toll-free at 1-844-989-7682.

Include in your request:

An electronic copy of a print ad or print out from an online advertisement, copy of email newsletter, screen shot of a website – date stamped and showing the items that make it an identical product, with total price, including taxes and fees.

For Hotel Stays – Exclusively Available for AMA members

Step 1: Book your hotel stay at AMATravel.ca

Step 2: See if you qualify. AMA Travel must be able to confirm the price availability of the other hotel room at the time you submit your claim:

  • Did you book on AMATravel.ca within the last 24 hours?
  • Is the product identical (e.g. same travel dates, duration of stay, room type, payment terms, and cancellation policy)?

Step 3: With your AMATravel.ca itinerary and details of the lower price handy, make your request to redeem on the Guarantee by email to amatravel.online@ama.ab.ca or calling toll-free at 1-844-989-7682 by email or phone within 24 hours of booking at AMATravel.ca.

Include in your request:
  • Date you booked your hotel with AMATravel.ca;
  • Full name the booking is under;
  • Confirmation number for your AMATravel.ca booking; and
  • Electronic copy of a print ad or print out from an online advertisement, copy of email newsletter, screen shot of a website – date stamped and showing the items that make it an identical product, with total price, including taxes and fees.

Verification of Claims

  • All requests, claims or attempts to redeem through the Guarantee are subject to verification by AMA Travel.
  • AMA Travel will not accept screenshots or other purported evidence of a lower price that cannot be independently confirmed by AMA Travel personnel, nor will AMA Travel verify any request that it believes, in its sole discretion, is the result of a printing or other error or is made fraudulently or in bad faith.
  • Only one claim will be permitted per Hotel Stay for a particular hotel and for each Package.
  • For valid claims on the Guarantee, AMA Travel will call you at the phone number you provided to AMA and/or AMA Travel to get the correct credit card information for purposes of applying the price difference refund as a credit.
  • Verified claims on the Guarantee will receive a credit to the credit card used for the prepaid booking, within approximately 7-10 days after completion of the trip set out in the Package or the Hotel Stay. After the credit card refund is completed, AMA Travel will also apply the $25 in AMA reward dollars where applicable.
  • AMA reward dollars are subject to their own terms and conditions. Click here for more information about reward dollars. AMA Travel reserves the right to render any reward dollars void that AMA Travel issues in error, or where the member is found to be ineligible to receive the reward dollars or has been deemed by AMA Travel to be abusing the Guarantee for personal or financial gain.

Changes

  • AMA Travel reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify or discontinue the Guarantee or to restrict its availability to any person, at any time, for any or no reason, and without prior notice or liability to you.
  • The terms that are in effect at the time of your booking will determine your eligibility under the Guarantee.
  • No change in the Guarantee will affect any AMA reward dollars that has already been issued to you.
  • The failure by AMA Travel to enforce any provision of these Terms & Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
