What cruise benefits do AMA members get?

AMA Travel has negotiated additional member benefits—such as priority check-in, onboard spending credits, and gifts—with select cruise lines and dates throughout the year. Check out the full list of member benefits from our cruise partners.

Will I get seasick?Today’s cruise ships, large and small, are very stable, steady vessels. Most people won’t notice any sea movement. Only a gentle vibration from the engines. Though if you tend to suffer from motion sickness, your cruise staff can provide anti-nausea medicine and fresh green apples (our favourite natural remedy). Is there internet access on cruise ships? Most cruise ships let you use the internet through shared computer terminals or Wi-Fi on your personal device. However, internet access is usually an extra expense, so keep your eye on the charges. How do I get my cruise documents? To get access to your cruise documents and print them off, cruise guests are asked to complete pre-immigration/guest information, which is done through the cruise line website. You’ll be asked to provide passport, emergency contact, and other personal information. Completing pre-immigration is also your opportunity to pre-book shore excursions and arrange dining plans.

Your AMA cruise specialist will be happy to help you through the pre-immigration process.

What if I have special medical or dietary requests? Not a problem. All our cruise partners delight in giving guests personalized service. Whether you’re on a carb-free diet or need an insulin container in your room, simply let your cruise specialist know. We’ll make sure to notify the cruise line of your particular needs. How do I buy things on the cruise ship? All cruise lines issue guests a cruise ID card. This card is used to access your stateroom, as well as order drinks, shop, and purchase other onboard services. At the beginning of your cruise, you’ll have the option to deposit money into your onboard account or connect it directly to a credit card.
