How far in advance should I book my flight?

Since there are so many factors that influence flight demand and pricing, it’s tricky to say how far in advance you should book your ticket to get the best deal. Our recommendation is to book at least a couple months away to guarantee preferred seating availability—especially during the holidays and other high seasons.

What day of the week is the cheapest to fly?Your day of departure can make a significant difference to flight cost. Generally, mid-week (Tuesday or Wednesday) is the cheapest time to fly within Canada.Where can I park at the airport?AMA members save 20% on daily and weekly parking rates at Park N Fly in Edmonton and Park 2 Go in Calgary.How early should I arrive at the airport?Arrive 3 hours prior to departure for international flights and 90 minutes prior to departure for all domestic flights. Flight times can change without notice, so remember to confirm all your flight schedules the day of. What type of ID do I need to fly?
  • One piece of government-issued photo ID (passport, driver’s license) OR
  • Two pieces of government-issued, non-photo ID (birth certificate, provincial healthcare card)

For travel to the U.S. or any other international destination, passengers need to present a valid Canadian passport before boarding
